Launch faces NNE into mouth of Chester River. Note that the peninsula to the left (west) prevents exposure to west and NW winds. Best wind directions are NNW, N, NE, E. This launch is excellent for beginners.
Note: you are supposed to buy a permit before arriving at the launch. Permits are $5/day for MD residents, $10/day for non MD residents. Purchase from Angler's Fishing shop before crossing the bridge. http://www.anglerssportcenter.com/. Annual permits til Dec 31 are $25 and $50 for Md and non MD residents respectively. Plan ahead and purchase the permit before arriving. There are no honor boxes at launch and you cannot purchase your permit at the launchFIG. 2A Areal view of launch area

Take US 50 East from DC thru Annapolis and over Bay Bridge. Then cross the bridge leaving Kent island. Get off on exit 43B Chester River Beach Road. Turn left at the end of the exit ramp and cross over US 50. Turn left onto Sadler road just beyond entrance ramp for US 50 West. Travel 1/2 mile on Sadler road to Holly's Restaurant. Make a right hand turn at Holley's restaurant onto Jackson Creek Road. Follow 800 feet to an end.
Site can be susceptible to excessive submerged aquatic vegetation in summer and fall. When tide is low, one must walk out several hundred feet to find deep enough water.
