This launch is in a league all by itself, a launch from the 20th century, when there
were few rules, few crowds, etc.  It is as if civilization forgot about this one.  I've
been from NYC to Hatteras, and I have not found another one quite like this one.
You can spend the day virtually unhastled and not feel that you are on display.

After crossing the Bay Bridge, at the US 301/US50 split, merge onto US-50 E toward
OCEAN CITY and then travel 68.5 miles to the Salisbury area.  At this point, US-50 E
becomes US-13 S/SALISBURY BYP (Salisbury bypass has a 65 MPH speed limit).
Get on this Salisbury bypass, and exit at MD Rt 12 Snow Hill Road (this exit is after
the Ocean City turnoff but before the Norfolk turn off).   Take the MD-12 ramp
toward SALISBURY/SNOW HILL and follow signs for Snow Hill/MD Rt 12 South.
Turn LEFT onto MD-12 S, then travel 15 miles into the center of Snow Hill.  You
will reach a traffic light where you turn left on Market St towards Berlin.

to reach MD Rt 365

Travel about 500 ft and turn a sharp right onto MD Rt 365 (Bay St).  After 1 mile,
cross U.S. Rt 113 and continue east on MD Rt 365 East (Public Landing Road) for
another 5 miles to an end.  Turn left at the water front onto Wharf Dr.

Take Wharf Dr to an end (0.25 miles) passing the turnoff for the boat ramp.
The pavement ends.  Park next to the sandy launch.

Launch faces SE across 5 miles of Chincoteague bay to Assateague island.  Launch
is best with North winds, South winds, or winds with an east in it.  The bottom is
sandy and is about 3 or 4 feet deep for about 1000 feet out.
