East Bay Road (near Chimney Bluffs)

East Bay Road launch is on the East edge of
Chimney Bluffs State
Park
in the town of Huron in Wayne County. It is about 40 miles from Rochester
Directions: from Rochester, travel east on NY Rt 104 about 36
miles, passing the village of Sodus
and passing the turn off for Sodus Point. Turn left onto Lake Bluff Road
at a blinking
yellow light and opposite turn off for NY Rt 414. Follow signs for Chimney
Bluffs S.P. and for
the winery. You will end up passing the entrance of Chimney Bluffs S.P.
and the launch
is on the way to the winery. This entails traveling North on Lake Bluff
Road for 3.6 miles
and continuing straight onto Garner Road when Lake Bluff Road makes a sharp left
turn.
In 2.0 miles on Garner Road, you pass the main park entrance for Chimney Bluffs
S.P.
Continue on Garner Road 0.8 miles past park entrance and turn left onto E Bay
Rd.
Travel 1 mile North on E Bay Road and the primary launch is at the dead end at
the
lake front. For the secondary launch, turn right to remain on E Bay Rd
just before the
dead end for the primary launch. In 200 ft is a green grassy field on your
left and a
parking area for the secondary launch.
Launches face NNW into Lake Ontario

Grassy rigging areas are present. At the primary launch area, bear to
the right (east) to
descend a small cliff to the shore.
Notes: Shore at primary launch is a pebbly floor. At
Secondary launch,
the shoreline is more sandy. Gear carry distance is about 100 ft for both
launches.
Trailhead for viewing the Chimney Bluffs starts at the restrooms
at the primary launch parking area. Follow trail for 0.5 miles to view
bluffs.
