Launch faces West into Barnegat bay

Best wind Directions: N, NW, W, SW and S

Amenities: showers, restrooms, drinking fountains, trash receptacles,
picnic tables, benches, lights, parking

Fees: None*

Hazards:  Bay is shallow and islands are present--a Hatteras like
environment is present in that you are likely able to stand up even
if one or two miles from launch.    Beware of boat traffic in channels

Other Notes:  It may be best to bring a weed fin along in the case
that there are lots of weeks present.  Launch is suitable for beginners.

*A beach badge is required for bathers during the season of about
June 20 to Labor day.  For the website for beach badges, click here
For more info on the park, click here.  It is my understanding that
it is not necessary for windsurfers to purchase beach badges.
However rules can change over time.

Additional Notes by Felix Cabrera circa 1990: "The bay is very shallow
- if you sail a mile or two out, if you're not in a boat channel, you
can probably stand.  Cautions [include] beware of boat traffic in channels."
