Located on the western shore of the Chesapeake bay just south
of Annapolis and facing Thomas Point Light.  Near Mayo, MD.

Bayfront Park as a nearby, comparable alternative

From Washington, take US 50 east, from Baltimore, take I97 south
to US 50 East.  Follow signs for MD Rt 2 south to exit off of US 50. 
 Follow MD RT 2 South for a couple of miles and make a left on
Central Ave MD 214 East.  Follow MD 214 E for several miles,
becomes Triton Beach Road, and then make a slight left onto
Shoreham beach road.  Keep left at the fork and continue on
Shoreham beach road, then make a sharp right onto Honeysuckle
Dr.  Follow Honeysuckle drive to end and enter park.  Mayo
beach is launch # 13 on this AA cty map.

Must have a permit to park here.  Get 2010 permit in advance
by filling out the Application form.  $45 Fee for one year
(from 04/01/10 to 09/20/10).  Approved applicants receive a
combination to the lock and can launch at a launch area called
"Mayo Wind" within Mayo Beach Park.

Good windsurfing on any wind without west in it.  Small swells at times.
