This launch is now located at a business called
48th Street Watersports,
located
behind the Princess Bayside
Hotel at 48th Street, on the bay side,
about one-half block north
of the
former Sailing Etc. This is just south
of MD Rt 90 and
north of US 50.
Directions: From the Baltimore/Washington, DC area, take US 50 East
to
end at the
coastal Highway in Ocean City. Travel North on the
coastal
Highway to the traffic
light at 48th street. Turn left at traffic
light
into the Princess Bayside Hotel.
Park in the garage to your left
(south)
of the hotel. Proceed to waterfront from the garage.
Alternate route, take U.S. 50 East to MD Rt 90 well after Salisbury and
about
10 miles
before Ocean city. Take MD Rt 90 east to an end in
Ocean city.
Turn right (south) on the Coastal Highway to the traffic
light at 48th street. Turn right at traffic light into hotel.
The launch faces West into Isle of Wight bay. Thus, any wind
direction
absent an East
in it would be best.
Launch is in a very
pleasant setting.
The beach is sandy, there
are palm trees growing
in the beach, and the beach
is
the site of many weddings.

The business charges $5 to launch if you bring your own gear. The
business rents
gear, but no longer sells gear.
This business is
located
one-half block north of the
former Sailing Etc business.
People planning to
sail from here should call the
business in
advance for info. Owner has been known
to store your gear
overnight
for you if you give it up by 5PM.
