Directions: Travel East on U.S. 50. Cross Bay Bridge. At 50/301 split,
continue on U.S.
50 E
towards Ocean City. On the approach to Easton,
turn off onto MD Rt 332 and
follow signs for
"Oxford" and
Oxford Belleview Ferry where you will eventually get onto MD Rt 333 to
the
ferry dock in Oxford. Upon reaching the ferry dock (Robert
Morris Inn
on your right), turn right
onto E Strand and the sandy launch
area is
0.25 miles on the left and the parking area is
just beyond on the right.

Alternate Route: Travel past Easton on U.S. Rt 50. After
Easton,
make a right onto
Almshouse Road. Travel west about 3 miles to
MD Rt 333 (Oxford Road) and turn left to
head west on Oxford Rd.
After
another 3 miles, you enter the village of Oxford and Oxford
Road becomes S
Morris Street and then N Morris Street. Upon
reaching the ferry
dock,
turn right onto E Strand and the sandy launch
area is 0.25 miles on the
left.
Best Wind Directions: W, NW, N, & NE.
Notes: Launch faces NW into about 1 mile wide portion of the
mouth
of the Tred Avon River. Launch is best in the Spring and Fall when
fronts
come through or for NE'ers. The E Strand
launch is poor in the
summer
time when the wind is out of the south and there are lots of
jellyfish.
Launch susceptible to 3 foot tidal variations, check tide forecast before going
Fees: None
Regulations: No alcohol, no dogs, no open fires, no parking
along E Strand
or at launch
area, closed 10PM to 5AM.
Amenities: Trash barrels present, parking lot across street from launch

More Notes: The E Strand launch is poor for summer when the wind
is out of the South
and jellyfish are present. However, it is possible
to
launch from 1) the end of W Strand
or 2) from a large grassy park
on the west
side of N Morris Street during summer, but
large rocks
are present and thus
these launches are not frequently used.
