Sampson State Park

Launch is on the east side of Seneca lake about 12 miles south of Geneva
and is located between Seneca Army Depot and the lake

Directions:  from Geneva travel on Rt 20/5 to junction for NY 96a Ithaca/Ovid),
travel south on NY 96a 11.5 miles and turn right into park.  Travel past museum,
past park office, into the campground area and to the water.  Launch near or to
the right (north) of concrete block just north of pier.  From Ithaca, travel
north on NY 96 thru Trumansburg, Interlaken and into Ovid.  In Ovid, get on
NY 96a and travel a few miles.  Park entrance is on the left.  Launch faces SW

Best Wind Directions:  S, SW, W, NW and maybe N

Fees: the typical NYS $7 during the summer, free otherwise

Regulations:  do not commingle with or launch where the bathers are --
stay to the right (north) of them

Hazards:  watch out for buoys and/or lines present that are part of the
swimming area
