5. SOUTHERN MARYLAND LAUNCH PAGE
Although this Page will not be able to reproduce the former cow
mascot from somdwindsurf.com
that we all expected, it will
provide the viewer with
information on windsurfing in Southern
Maryland. A "#" indicates a
beginner friendly launch
and a "##" indicates and advanced only launch.

Southern Maryland is defined here as all of Saint Mary's county,
MD
(including Point Lookout) and extreme southern Calvert county
(i.e. Solomons
Island area). There are several ways to get here,
such as 1) getting on MD Rt 5 south from the capital beltway
(I495) and staying on Rt 5 thru
Waldorf and
La Plata,
2) getting on MD Rt 4 from either the capital beltway (I495)
or US 301
and continuing South thereon, 3) using MD 235
in conjunction with either MD Rt 5
or MD Rt 2-4
while heading
south or 4) picking up MD Rt 2 South from US 50 near
Annapolis.
Which route
you take depends on where you start (e.g.,
Washington, DC, Annapolis, Baltimore) and where you finish
(e.g., Solomons, Pt
Lookout, St Mary's college etc). Consult
a map like
Mapquest.
